Cookie Policy
Last updated August 1, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how PatternAI ("PatternAI," "we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, apps, and related services (collectively, the "Services") — across both PatternAI products: Patterns (design generation and the digitising of designs into production/machine files) and Image & Video — and how you can control them.
1) What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use an app. We also use similar technologies, including:
- Local and session storage (browser storage used for settings and session state)
- Pixels, tags, and web beacons (small files or code that measure interactions)
- SDKs (software components in our apps that provide functionality and measure performance)
Together, these help the Services work, improve performance, and protect accounts against fraud and abuse.
2) Why we use them
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Operate the Services (login and session handling, routing, stability)
- Protect security and integrity (fraud prevention, suspicious-login detection, rate-limit enforcement)
- Remember your preferences (language, theme, and other interface choices)
- Measure performance and usage (analytics to understand which features work and to fix issues)
- Support marketing and advertising, only where enabled and with consent (see Section 6)
3) The categories we use
A) Strictly necessary (essential)
Required for the Services to function; these cannot be switched off in our systems.
Used for authentication and session management, security and fraud prevention, load balancing, and core platform operations.
B) Functional (preferences)
Support added functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your language, theme, and saved selections.
C) Performance and analytics
Help us understand usage and improve reliability, through feature-usage metrics, performance monitoring, and error tracking.
D) Advertising (only where enabled)
Used to measure and deliver marketing across sites — for example, measuring campaign effectiveness and limiting how often you see an ad. We use these only with your consent, where required by law.
4) First-party and third-party cookies
- First-party cookies are set by PatternAI on our own domain to make the Services work.
- Third-party cookies are set by providers we rely on for analytics, embedded content, or payments. Where third parties are used, they may collect data about your device and activity under their own policies.
5) How long cookies last
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser or app session.
- Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them.
Durations range from minutes (sessions) to months (preferences or measurement), and we set each cookie to last only as long as needed for its purpose.
6) Managing your cookies
A) Cookie preferences
When you first visit, a consent banner lets you "Accept all," "Reject," or "Manage cookies." Choosing "Manage cookies" opens a preferences panel where you can turn analytics and advertising on or off by category. You can re-open this panel at any time using the "Manage cookie preferences" button on this Cookie Policy page. Your choice takes effect immediately.
B) Browser controls
Most browsers let you delete cookies, block cookies, or block only third-party cookies. If you block essential cookies, parts of the Services — such as login — may not work.
C) Mobile app controls
Your device operating system may offer controls to limit tracking or reset advertising identifiers.
D) Do Not Track
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no consistent industry standard for responding to them, we may not respond uniformly; please use the controls above to manage cookie behaviour.
E) Analytics and advertising consent (Google Consent Mode v2)
Analytics and advertising storage is set to "denied" by default and is not used until you choose "Accept all." If you choose "Reject non-essential," Google Analytics and Google Ads run in consent-denied mode: they do not write the _ga or _gcl_au cookies and do not store an identifier. Only essential cookies and browser storage remain in that case.
7) Cookies we set
Firebase Authentication (PatternAI) — Essential — keeps you signed in and secures your session. Stored in your browser's local storage / IndexedDB (not a traditional cookie); cleared when you sign out.
patternai-locale (PatternAI) — Functional — a first-party cookie that remembers your chosen language; up to 1 year.
patternai-theme (PatternAI) — Functional — remembers your light / dark / grey theme. Stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie).
_ga and _ga_V201ZN5JZZ (Google Analytics) — Analytics — distinguish users and retain session state to measure usage; typically up to 2 years. Set only after you choose "Accept all."
_gcl_au (Google Ads) — Advertising — links ad clicks to conversions to measure campaign effectiveness; typically up to 90 days. Set only after you choose "Accept all."
Note: essential items above are strictly necessary and are always active. The analytics and advertising items are set only with your consent, in line with Google Consent Mode v2 (see Section 6E).
8) Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above shows the most recent revision. We may communicate material changes through the Services or by other appropriate means.
